Frequently Asked Questions

Everything a challenger needs to know before paying tribute: how the leaderboard works, when a bid counts, and what the crown actually costs.

The Game

A social competition built on a public, real-money leaderboard. Anyone can submit a public URL as a "listing" and place real-money bids, called tributes, to raise its position. The top listing wears the crown as KING. Browsing the court is free and requires no account.

No. There is no prize pool, no lottery, and no random outcome. Ranks are a deterministic function of verified bid totals. Spending money does not guarantee any particular rank. Anyone can pass you at any time.

The top spot on a public leaderboard and the prestige that comes with it: your URL sits on the throne at the centre of the court, is the first thing every visitor sees, and every dethronement is recorded in the permanent Royal History.

No. Verified bids are permanent and cumulative. Your listing never falls on its own; it loses rank only when another listing’s cumulative tribute strictly exceeds yours.

Bidding & Payments

Bids range from $1.00 to $999,999.99. To take a seat from a rival, your listing’s cumulative total must strictly exceed theirs, and you pay the full amount you enter, never the difference. Suggested amounts are rounded up to the next whole dollar.

Only after our payment provider verifies the charge server-side via a cryptographically signed webhook. Until then the bid is pending and has zero effect. A redirect back to the site never activates a bid.

No. Every verified bid is final and non-refundable. A refund or chargeback moves the payment into a terminal state that is permanently recorded. It never becomes credit toward future bids. Abusing the payment flow, such as charging back verified bids, may lead to listings being disabled and accounts suspended. The formal refund, dispute and chargeback procedure is reviewed by legal counsel before public launch.

Listings with a cumulative tribute under $10 are branded PRISONER regardless of rank, even rank #1. The court shows an explicit "YOU WERE WARNED" confirmation before any bid that would leave a realm in chains. The fastest escape is simple: raise your cumulative tribute to $10 or more.

The seat belongs to the listing whose qualifying payment was verified first. To take it, the challenger must strictly exceed the total; an equal bid never passes.

URLs & Content

Public http(s) URLs up to 2,048 characters that you are permitted to promote. URLs are canonicalised (protocol, www, trailing slash, fragments and query strings are normalised), so the same site cannot hold two seats. Internal, private-IP and non-http URLs are rejected.

No. The service never fetches submitted URLs. We store only the canonical URL and, where available, its favicon, which is loaded from the browser, not our servers.

Yes. Listings that are unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or otherwise prohibited by our Rules or Terms can be disabled by moderation at any time. Financial records are retained for audit purposes even after removal. See the Rules of the Realm for the full black list.

Account & Privacy

With a magic link sent to your email, or with Google or GitHub OAuth. We store your email address and account metadata, never a password.

The court is public by design: leaderboard standings, listing URLs, descriptions, cumulative totals, titles, and the activity feed are visible to everyone. Your email and payment metadata are never shown publicly.

No. Payments run entirely through our payment providers (such as Stripe). We never see or store card numbers, only the payment metadata those providers return.

Still unanswered? The full law is written in the Rules of the Realm, and the formal legalese in the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
